The 13th Social Contribution Awards 2024, hosted by Digital Chosun Ilbo and sponsored by The Chosun Ilbo, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership, was established to discover and promote exemplary companies and institutions that contribute to building a better society through meaningful social engagement.
The awards aim to lead sustainable strategic corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and enhance the global competitiveness of Korean companies by recognizing organizations that actively practice social contribution.
This year, from January 8 to 19, a total of 712 companies and institutions were selected as candidates based on research data from the Chosun Media Group, as well as social contribution reports and sustainability reports from organizations such as the Federation of Korean Industries and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
Subsequently, from the 23rd to the 25th of the same month, a panel of judges conducted a rigorous evaluation of submitted records. The assessment criteria included the CEO’s commitment and participation in social contribution, CSR strategies, implementation of programs, and both quantitative and qualitative outcomes. Through this process, 20 companies and institutions were ultimately selected.
