Crested Gecko Care Information: Health Management

Crested Gecko

We monitor the health status of the crested gecko by regularly observing its behavior, appetite, and bowel movements.

Constipation refers to the inability to pass stool; an individual suffering from constipation may strain to pass it, or the stool may appear very dry. Since dehydration can cause constipation, you must always provide fresh water to prevent it.

Constipation can occur due to incomplete digestion caused by overeating, such as eating a cricket that is too large or eating too much cricket or superfood at once.

In addition, if the inside of the enclosure is too cold, the internal organs may not be able to properly digest food, which can lead to constipation.

Severe or prolonged constipation can lead to impaction, so it is advisable to keep a record of your bowel movement frequency and condition.
